Abstract

Hotel management plays a vital role in shaping the guest experience, ensuring operational efficiency, and sustaining competitive advantage in the hospitality industry. This study explores key components of effective hotel management by examining how service quality, human resource practices, technological innovation, and sustainability influence both organizational performance and customer satisfaction. Using a qualitative research methodology, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with hotel managers, frontline staff, and guests from three mid-range hotels in Erbil, Iraq. Thematic analysis revealed five core themes: guest-centric service, managerial adaptability, technology integration, staff training and morale, and post-pandemic cleanliness and safety. These findings confirm that personalized service, empowered staff, and technological efficiency are critical drivers of guest loyalty and operational excellence. Additionally, sustainability and ethical practices emerged as essential elements in consumer decision-making and brand perception. The study highlights the importance of integrated management frameworks that align internal strategies with evolving market expectations. By synthesizing stakeholder perspectives, this research contributes to the broader hospitality literature and offers practical insights for hotel managers aiming to enhance service delivery, retain talent, and maintain resilience in a dynamic and competitive environment.
